Book Discussion At Parsons Library

Trish Reeves will lead the concluding book discussion on Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel at 6:30pm on November 18, at the Parsons Public Library as part of the Parsons TALK series.

This is the concluding book in the three-part “After the Fact" book discussion series. The book covers the lives of its characters after a flu pandemic decimates 99% of the world’s population. The novel examines a post-apocalyptic world consisting of starvation, loneliness through themes of nostalgia, memory, and art.

Reeves holds a B.A. in journalism from the University of Missouri, and an M.F.A. in creative writing from Warren Wilson College in North Carolina. Reeves has been leading TALK discussions since 1999. The series is sponsored by Humanities Kansas.
