New Jersey based writer Ian August joins the roster of William Inge Center for the Arts playwrights-in-residence at Independence Community College.. Temporarily residing at the historic William Inge family home in the community, August will write his own plays in the same surroundings that inspired a young William Inge to his Pulitzer Prize-winning work.

The residency is supported by an ArtsWorks grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the William Inge Festival Foundation and Independence Community College. As part of his residency, August will be a guest artist at Field Kindley High School as well as Independence Community College.
