The Independence Chamber of Commerce presented a check for $1,500 to the Independence Main Street Program during this morning’s First Friday Event at the Civic Center in Memorial Hall. The check will be used to buy brackets to hang more street banners downtown on Penn and along West Main.
During this morning’s First Friday a Certificate of Recognition was presented by PRIDE to Alisa Beechem for improvements she made to a home on North 8th. About 100 people attended this morning’s event and also heard presentations by USD446 Superintendent Rusty Arnold, Communities ion Schools Representative Lashawn Taylor, Ryan York from VFW Post 11-86 and Neewollah Generalissimo Anne Bertie.
