The City of Independence has released its September Sales Tax Report. Receipts for the month totaled $186,618, for an increase of $26,805 or up 16.8 percent from September 2018. For the first nine months of the year, sales tax receipts are up 5.2 percent, totaling $1,540,042. That's compared to $1,304,420 a year ago at this time.
