The W.S.U. Police Department is taking a serious look at how to safely and legally allow motorized e-scooters on the Wichita State campus. Police Chief Rodney Clark says the safety of students, employees and visitors is always their top priority. We knowing from the increasing usage around the country that these scooters are fun and convenient. Clark says we also know they present safety hazards to their riders, pedestrians, motorists, and property. When you put a motor on something, it changes everything. They have begun to research e-scooter experiences elsewhere, and will be especially interested in the results of the current pilot program by the city of Wichita.
