The heat is on! With summer heat in full effect Becky Barnhardt with Coffeyville Friends of Animals wanted to remind our listeners of some tips for your pets. She says dog houses may not be as “cool” as you think. Most dog house don’t have good circulation making the heat worse. Having a good shade tree or source of shade is best for you animals

Barnhardt says if you do have to keep your animal outside for the day, to set up a small pool with water, or freeze their water and allow it to melt through day giving them a freshwater source, She also says to forgive some animals who start to dig more often as they are just trying to cool down.
