ICC Names Interim President

There's a new interim president at Independence Community College. At the regularly scheduled ICC Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday, George C. Knox was named as the interim college president while the search continues for a permanent replacement.

Knox currently serves as the executive director for the Council on Accreditation for Two-Year Colleges and accepted the additional opportunity to serve as interim president of ICC while a national search is conducted for the college's next president.

Knox has previously served as president at two other community colleges, including 12 years spent at Labette Community College and five years at Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kansas.

The Board also announced they would be hiring a national firm to conduct the search for ICC's next president.
