The Independence City Commission will meet once again this Thursday with a couple of budget presentations on the agenda. Jeri Hopkins, the director of the Independence Public Library, has submitted the library's 2020 budget request. In addition, Independence Main Street has submitted a budget request of $25,000 for the commission to consider.
