Beer Garden Request for Coffeyville's 150th Birthday Party

At the Coffeyville City Commission meeting Tuesday, the committee for Coffeyville's 150th Anniversary requested that an ordinance be put on the agenda for the city to have a beer garden at the 150th Birthday Celebration on June 1. The Chamber director, Candi Westbrook, said that most of Downtown will be blocked off with security from the Montgomery County Sheriff. Commissioners are placing the request for this ordinance onto the next agenda, so a decision will be made at the upcoming commission meeting, Tuesday, Mar. 12. If approved, the beer garden would include beer and wine, located in the Commercial Bank parking lot during concerts after 5pm following free food and birthday cake. Coffeyville's 150th birthday party will be an all-day event.

The City encourages people to attend their meetings and welcomes public comments. They meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month, 6:30pm on the 2nd floor of the Municipal Building, 102 W. 7th St.
