Probe Ongoing Into CQ County Murder

The investigation continues into a deadly shooting near Peru. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.  The shooting happened just after 6 o’clock Sunday evening. Investigators say 46-year-old Joe Corman was found with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Sedan’s hospital, but did not survive. Approximately an hour after the shooting, deputies identified 43-year-old Travis W. Dickson as a suspect. He was arrested at his home in Niotaze.

He has been booked into the Chautauqua County Jail on complaints of driving under the influence and first degree murder.
