Montgomery County is focusing on making roads safer. Many of the busy intersections need more lighting so drivers turning off gravel roads onto the highways can better see what is coming and where they are going. County Clerk, Charlotte Schmidt, explained that the county now has 27 already-lighted intersections but many years ago there were many more. Besides adding more lighted intersections on the busy roads, county commissioners are looking at a different kind of lighting, and also adding solar panels to save money. Also, the county would like to paint the many culverts yellow and replace the many smaller ones. No action was taken.
