Tyson continues to be on the horizon for big business in Montgomery County. Since 2017, MCAC has been working diligently to get the county ready for Tyson. Director Tricia Purdon shares more.

Purdon said neighboring states and counties with poultry production have had problems due to not having the necessary statutes, programs and policies in place to protect the farmers, water quality, and our neighborhoods. Once the current “strategic planning process” is complete, Montgomery County will be eligible for USDA financing to continue bigger projects that will establish Tyson and our county as a responsible poultry producer.
