Potential for Winter Weather in Afternoon and Evening

The National Weather Service has updated the forecast from last night as the system has slowed down and will now be producing some winter weather across Central Kansas. The front should push through Southeastern Kansas this afternoon with rain and drizzle along with strong north winds at 25 to 40 mph. Late afternoon wind chills will be in the 20's. The NWS is having a hard time determining how far the freezing drizzle and snow will make it and will be expanding the advisories this afternoon as the storm slowly moves through Kansas. They believe much of the precipitation will fall as rain through the early evening but there is a chance for it to switch to freezing drizzle and it won't take much to make our roads slippery and dangerous this evening. The time frame for our area will be after 1 p.m. probably in the 2-3 p.m. time frame through early evening.

Temperatures for tomorrow will stay cool with another front on Thursday and Saturday keeping us in the cold.
