Columbus Police and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office serve a search warrant Tuesday evening and three land in Jail. The warrant was served at a home on East Metzler in Columbus. Sheriff David Groves says, during the search, investigators found what appeared to be methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Deputies arrested 37-year-old Harley Schmohe and 63-year-old Shirley Morris of Columbus. Also arrested was 42-year-old Shelly Ledbetter of Springdale, Arkansas. Schmohe and Ledbetter are both being held in the Cherokee County Jail in lieu of $5000.00 each on allegations of Possessing Methamphetamine, Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Morris’ bond has been set at $2,000.00 on allegations of Possessing Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia.
The arrests come after a several weeks-long investigation.
