The track at Veterans Memorial Stadium needs to be replaced. The track was built in 2001 and had a lifespan of 10-years. Coffeyville's Deputy Director of Public Works, Jim Bradshaw, says they did a surface seal in 2012 which extended the life of the track. It's estimated the cost of replacement will be nearly $300,000.

The Coffeyville City Commission has agreed to award the contract for the work to Hellas Construction from Texas. The bid process was handled by Greenbush, which will also audit the contract.
