The City of Coffeyville Water Department is flushing of the water distribution system.  This flushing is recommended by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to remove any naturally occurring bacterial growth and buildup in the lines and help maintain the required chlorine levels throughout the system.  The free chlorine burn is underway.  During the flushing project, customers may notice low water pressure, murky water, poor taste and/or a stronger chlorine odor.  

The flushing began north of First Street and spread systematically across town and is expected to take approximately four weeks to complete.
