SEK Ranks High in Senior Quality of Life Study

Southeast Kansas ranked high in a new study for quality of life for senior citizens.  Five southeast Kansas cities ranked in the top 10 in the state for seniors, according to a study released by SmartAssets, a financial technology company.  Independence was ranked 2nd in the state while Parsons ranked 4th, Chanute 5th, Coffeyville 7th and Fort Scott 8th.  Abilene captured the top spot for seniors according to the study.  The research factored taxes, doctor’s offices, recreation centers and retirement centers per 1,000 people.
