Nowata authorities arrest a couple for child neglect and child endangerment. Police say they found the couple’s young children living in a home full of dead mice and trash. Police were reportedly called to a disturbance at the home of Jason Jones, Jr. and Ashley Abel when they discovered the situation. When officers arrived, Abel was erratic and appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic. According to officers, Abel allowed officers into the apartment after she said that she didn't know if her children were okay. She later admitted to using and selling drugs.

Her two and four-year-old were found breathing, but unresponsive. The children were taken to a Tulsa hospital where they tested positive for the presence of narcotics. They are expected to survive.
