Coffeyville Commissioners Say No To School Sales Tax Extension

Coffeyville City Commissioners vote against a plan to ask residents to extend a sales tax to benefit Coffeyville Public Schools. Superintendent Dr. Craig Correll and Commissioner Chris Williams discussed how the sales tax could ease the burden on property taxes.  Williams and the other commissioners present said they support USD 445's plan to upgrade safety and other aspects of their facilities, but they will not allow voters to consider a sales tax as part of the funding plan.

Commissioner Jim Taylor was not at the meeting.
