Oklahoma voters had their say yesterday at the polls. In, Nowata County, voters said yes to an Enhanced 911 tax. The E-911 proposition passed with 73 percent of the vote 2029 to 748. Burke LaRue defeated incumbent commissioner Curtis Barnes for the District 1 commissioner's seat. Larue says he is up to the challenge. LaRue garnered 74 percent of the Democrat vote.
In the statewide race for Oklahoma governor, an August 28th run-off will determine which Republican will face Democrat Drew Edmondson. Former Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett received the most ballots. Tulsa businessman Kevin Stitt finished in a close second place.
Voters also approved a ballot proposition allowing the medicinal use of marijuana.
