The Highway Task force, a group focused on tackling unfinished road work around the state of Kansas and a few here in our region. 23 road construction projects were pushed back last year and a few were here in Montgomery County. Representative Rich Proell says they are planning meetings in Chanute and would urge people to attend to discuss all their roadway concerns. Proell is meeting with Senator McGinn next week to determine the times of the meetings and will in total have 8 meetings around the state. Proell says he’s excited about the task force and urges people to attend the meetings to further discuss regional concerns, give their ideas on existing projects and bring to light roadway projects that may not be known of yet. The obvious projects such as Highway 169 are being addressed but Proell states that the only way of knowing where work needs to be done is if it is brought to light.
