The Pittsburg Police Department and Cherokee County Sheriff's Office work to investigate some construction equipment theft from Pittsburg. The value of the equipment was estimated at $30,000. Sheriff's deputies set up surveillance on a property near Sherwin where the equipment was located. 48-year-old Thomas Prater, of Columbus, was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property. It is a felony level complaint.

Prater was released after posting $5,000 bond.
