Montgomery County Backs the Blue 5K run and Community day returns this Saturday to Independence. The Montgomery County Backs the Blue 5K race official start up is at 9am, but registration for the event is at 7:30. Other events include a one mile fun run, “Donut Dash” which starts at 8:30. Lisa Wilson from the Independence Chamber of Commerce says the chamber will be out there doing face painting and dunk a cop. Vendors will also be attending and members of all emergency services will be there for a meet and greet at the Riverside Park Oval this Saturday.
