North Penn. Railway Design Gets Approved

We all wanted it. And now it’s coming! The remodel of the railway above N. Penn Avenue next to Woods Lumber in Independence has it’s design and now has its approval! After approval from the city commision, the park board, and the tourism committee, the railway will be receiving a much needed face lift. One of the project directors Amy Taylor tells us what it will look like as the north side of the bridge entering the downtown area will contain a blue graphic advertising the historic downtown, while the south side will be orange and promote the River side park and Ralph Mitchell Zoo.  The city commission did make a point that the sign needed to be maintained and managed but are all very excited for the renovation. Amy Taylor says after the approval the group is getting to work very quickly and expect to be done later May or into early June.
