Opportunity Zones coming to S.E.K

Want an easy investment that benefits your local community as well? With the new federal opportunity zone program being put in to place, southeastern Kansas has these options. Trisha Purdon the executive director of the Montgomery County action council, said they got the green light for 3 of 4 of their proposed zones, including Caney, Cherryvale, and the city proper portion of Coffeyville. With these new zones, investment companies can invest into local projects and offset their capital gains, making it easier to put money back into other local projects benefiting the investor and the local communities. A project that Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer had yet to hear about, but after consideration and approval from the Kansas Department of Commerce those 3 zones are now apart of the program.
