The Independence City Commission meets tomorrow evening. One of the items on the agenda includes the 2016 Fiscal Audit Report. The report was prepared by Yerkes & Michels of Independence. The audit, which was included in this week's board packet, found some areas of concern in the oversight of city funds. The report found eight areas where there appeared to be a lack of in-house controls. A corrective action plan has reportedly been signed by City Manager Craig Whitehead and City Clerk Michael Borovetz.
