Patience pays off for the Kansas Jayhawks, as they are able to land a talented forward recruit following a decommitment from NC State.
Forward Paul Mbiya has announced his commitment to Lawrence, and will join the class of 2025 for Bill Self. Mbiya chose KU over Oregon, and stands 6-foot-11 with a 7-foot-7 wingspan.
Kevin Flaherty of KC Sports Network says there is plenty to be excited by in Mbiya's game.
The forward will join a frontcourt that also returns former McDonald's All-American Flory Bidunga for his sophomore season. Flaherty says Mbiya is the perfect compliment piece to Bidunga.
Mbiya had originally signed with NC State but requested a release from his National Letter of Intent last week. His commitment comes the same week the Jayhawks landed four-star guard Kohl Rosario.
