Four KJCCC Quarterbacks Named Players to Watch

With spring ball in the rear view mirror, and summer workouts and fall camp ramping up, KJCCC football teams are preparing to compete for a conference title in the 2025 season.

Four signal callers in the conference were named to the Preseason QB Watch List, which is released by JCGridiron each summer.

Hutchinson's Christian Johnson returns for his sophomore season, after a season which he split snaps with Samari Collier. Johnson completed 58% of his passes, with over 1,300 total yards and 13 total touchdowns.

The premier QB competition in the KJCCC this summer may be at Garden City, with a pair of Division 1 bounce backs battling for the starting job. Tanner Helton is a 6-foot-5 dual threat option from Fort Myers, Florida, and transfers from East Carolina University. Jaydyn Sisk has elite athleticism and mobility, and is a Desoto, Texas product that transfers in from Mississippi Valley State.

The final quarterback in the KJCCC named to the watch list is redshirt freshman Braxton Clark of Dodge City. Clark is a 6-foot-3 pocket passer from Derby, Kansas, and is the favorite to win the Conquistador starting job.

No Red Raven quarterbacks were listed on the watch list, but the early indicators are a three-player battle for the starting job between returning sophomore Joseph Vick, Butler transfer Mac Armstrong, and incoming freshman Max Huston.
