For the second consecutive year, Coffeyville Community College will be the host site for a KSHSAA Basketball Officials camp, which takes place this weekend.

 

High school and college referees from the Eastern half of the state will convene at Nellis Hall tomorrow and Sunday to train in three-person crews, as well as fulfill the KSHSAA's requirement for postseason eligibility.

 

CCC Athletic Director Bryce Saia says hosting this event is a great thing for the entire city of Coffeyville.

 

The camp includes video, classroom, and on-court instruction, as well as games with shot clocks for the new policy regarding 4A, 5A, and 6A schools. Saia says the officials also get familiar with the Red Raven facilities.

 

KSHSAA also hosted a camp on the Western side of the state last weekend, at Hays High School.
