Campers Improving Skills at Camp of Champions

The next generation of basketball players are working on improving their skills at the annual Camp of Champions at Coffeyville Community College.

Campers ages six to fifteen spent the past four days at Nellis Hall, learning from Hall of Fame Head Coach Jay Herkelman, along with his coaching staff, and even a few of the Red Raven players.

12-year old Grayson says working with Coach Herkelman has made a huge difference.

Shooting and scoring aren't the only skills needed to succeed on the court. 12-year old Camree says camp has also helped her on the other side of the floor.

Camp of Champions sees plenty of return campers each summer, including 12-year old Parker, who's in his third camp. He says this year he's focused on improving his ability with the basketball in his hands.

The 2025 Camp of Champions wrapped up today, with the camp having been an annual tradition since 1995.
