Opening night of the Jac Caglianone era was a resounding success for the Royals, rallying to defeat the rival St. Louis Cardinals 10-7.
Bobby Witt Jr homered and drove in four runs, while Caglianone went 0-5 but hit the ball hard in his debut. Manager Matt Quatraro says although the results weren't there, the approach certainly was.
Quatraro wasn't the only person in the KC dugout that Caglianone caught the eye of. Witt says the presence of the young slugger in the lineup fired up the team as a whole.
