Oklahoma Wesleyan Names First Men's Volleyball Coach

The dawn of a new era has begun for Oklahoma Wesleyan, with the school hiring the first head coach for the new men's volleyball program.

Kyle Liechti has been introduced as the leader of the program, a Stillwater native with plenty of experience coaching volleyball. He says he was interested in the job because of both location and opportunity.

Liechti began as the head girl's volleyball coach at Stillwater High School, before becoming an assistant coach at Dillard University in New Orleans. He then spent time at Talladega College in Alabama, helping architect a new men's volleyball program that reached the NAIA national tournament in their second year.

Liechti says the expectations start immediately at OKWU.

Oklahoma Wesleyan men's volleyball will start their first ever season in NAIA next spring.
