Oklahoma Sooner softball's quest for an unprecedented fifth consecutive national championship comes to an end, being eliminated by Texas Tech in the semifinals.
The Red Raiders rallied behind a quality start from former Topeka High School star NiJaree Canady, and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh to win 3-2. It is the first time Texas Tech has both made the College World Series and the World Series Championship series.
Sooner softball has been one of college sports most dominant programs, winning national championships each year since 2021, and cycling All-American players and pitchers through the program in the last decade.
Texas Tech will take on the Texas Longhorns in a Best of 3 series for the national championship beginning tomorrow night, with both schools looking for their first national title in program history.
