Ames Leaving Kansas State After One Season

Kansas State is losing a talented guard to the transfer portal after one season.

Dai Dai Ames has announced his intent to enter the portal, with a "do not contact" distinction, which generally means the target destination is already known.

Ames played in 31 games as a freshman, also making 16 starts. He had a career-high 16 points in the NIT loss to Iowa, and was projected to be a starter on next year's team.

Ames is the sixth Wildcat to enter the portal in the 2024 offseason. Dug McDaniel, CJ Jones, Brendan Hausen, and Bartlesville recruit David Castillo are the four guards currently on the roster.
