Charles “Chuck” Newton Harshman Jr passed away on Monday March 11, 2024 in
his home with his family by his side. Chuck was born on May 12, 1946 to Charles
Newton Harshman, Sr. and Betty Schoonover.

Chuck worked as a Machinist at Chanute Manufacturing for over 30 years. He
enjoyed creating things in his shop from metal and wood. He was very talented at
both. He got his wood working talent from his father and in recent years had
made around 60 American Flags, several trains sets, crosses and hat racks. Many
of his Grandchildren have rocking horses, baby cradles, table and chairs and other
things too numerous to mention, that they will cherished forever. He was known
around town for having the best kept yard. He took great pride in the things he
did, weather it was the things he made with his hands or his yard or anything else.
He was a wonderful role model for his family. He was a patriotic man with a
strong love for God and country. He also loved to fish, but above all he loved
spending time with his family, especially when they were all together for family
get togethers.
