Connie Lynn (Fisher) Phifer

Connie Lynn (Fisher) Phifer, 75, of Coffeyville passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at her home.

 

She was born on February 14, 1948, at Coffeyville to Charles Fredrick and Billy Jean (Middleton) Fisher.  Connie attended school in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and Lenapah, Oklahoma, graduating from Lenapah High School.

 

Following high school Connie married Greg Berry and they had three children.

The couple later divorced.

 

Connie was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army for four years.

 

She married Phillip Eugene Phifer on August 17, 2007. Connie and Phillip were together 17 years prior to their marriage.  Phillip preceded her in death on November 28, 2015.

 

Survivors include three children Joan Tallhamer, Meissa Hanzelka, and Greg Berry; one step-daughter Desirae Blythe; three sisters, Cheryl Green, Patty Kucyk, and Shelia Morales; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings, Bobby Fisher, Sandy Phillips, and Tammy Knisley.

 

Following Connie’s wishes cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1022, 1714 West 8th St., Coffeyville.  Military Honors will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1022 and American Legion Post #20.

 

The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the VFW Post #1022 Ladies Auxiliary; these may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home 306 N. Cline Rd. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
