Dana Jean Gilpin, age 64, of Edna KS, passed away on September 30, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

 

Dana was born May 14, 1959, to John and Helen Eli. She graduated from Ketchum High School and later attended Coffeyville Community College where she obtained her MLT.

 

Dana was employed as a Medical Lab Technician with Mercy Hospital in Independence Kansas for 10 years. She then worked for Coffeyville Regional Medical Center and retired from after 20 years of employment.

 

Dana met Jack Gilpin and the couple was united in marriage on July 18, 1986. In her free time, she loved to fish, garden, and was an excellent baker. She loved her family and was proud of all her children and grandchildren.

 

Dana is survived by her husband Jack, her 3 sons and 1 daughter and their families: Bryan and Jeanie Gilpin, Gene Gilpin, Chris and Tiffany Gilpin, Jennifer and Chris Harp, as well as 13 grandkids and 2 great grandchildren, her mother Helen Eli, and sister Zaneta Radebaugh.

 

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.

 

A Memorial Graveside service celebrating Dana's life will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at North Edna Cemetery, Edna, Kansas with Pastor Lane Roberts officiating.
