Theresa Ann Moore

Theresa Ann Moore, age 50, of Caney, Kansas, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

She was born in Sedan, Kansas, on January 15, 1973, to Randall and Linda (Baughman) Mellen.  Theresa grew up and attended school in Caney, graduating from Caney Valley High School.

Theresa spent her life in service to others, first as a Certified Nurse's Aide, and later as a Teacher Aide in the Caney Schools, where she imparted not only knowledge but also values of compassion and thoughtfulness to her students. Her dedication extended beyond her profession as she was actively involved in scouting with her children. Theresa was also an avid crafter, a hobby that brought joy and creativity to both her life and those around her.

Theresa is survived by her children, Christian, Gabby, Joshua, and Gracie Moore, her mother, Linda Mellen, her brother and sister-in-law, Nathan and Regina Mellen and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Randall Mellen.

A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, September 22, 2023, at 10:30 am at the El Cado Cemetery, west of Caney with Father James Schibi of Holy Name Catholic Church officiating. As we come together to remember Theresa, we celebrate not only her life but the love she had for her family, which was the center of her universe.

The family will greet friends on Thursday, in Caney from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish Hall, 307 N. Hooker St.

The family suggests memorials in Theresa's memory to the American Breast Cancer Association; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.

We encourage you to leave your memories of Theresa and upload photos to the memorial page at www.dwbfh.com.
