Tarell Durant Sparks

Tarell Durant Sparks, 35, of Coffeyville passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

 

He was born on April 6, 1988, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Lloyd and Jiffie Mae (Lawrence) Sparks. Tarell grew up in Coffeyville where he attended local schools and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 2006.  Known for his smart mind, talented hands, compassionate heart, and adventurous spirit, Tarell embodied the essence of a true Kansan. He lived his entire life in Coffeyville, where he developed a strong connection to the community and the great outdoors.

 

Tarell was a gifted artist, employing his creative talents as a painter of fishing lures and as a painter at Cobalt Boats in Neodesha, Kansas.  His company, On Da Bank Custom Lures, was recognized by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, featuring Tarell and his exceptional work in their publications. He was not only talented but a self-learner too, teaching himself airbrush techniques to make his lures more realistic. Beyond the business, Tarell was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, and working in his garden. His adventurous spirit often led him to new experiences and challenges, always making the most out of life's moments.

 

Surviving to cherish his memory is his father, Lloyd Sparks of Barstow, California, his mother, Jiffie Sweeney, his stepfather Anthony Sweeney both of Coffeyville, Kansas; his brother, Calvin Sparks, a sister, Brenda Noblitt, a cousin who was like a sister, Stephanie Denise Lawrence all of Coffeyville, Kansas, step brothers, Calvin Jennings, Shaymon Wesley, Sir Anthony Sweeney, Anthony Sweeney III, Tremane Sweeney, step-sister, Lorana Delgado, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many close friends. 

 

He was preceded in death by his sister Ashia Sparks, his paternal grandparents Sylvester Johnson and Queen Esther Sparks, by his maternal grandparents, Eddie and Valder Lawrence, and by his uncle David Lawrence. 

 

Home Going services will be held for Tarell on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.  at the Mid America Revival Center, located at 505 Hollywood Street, Coffeyville, Kansas, with Pastor Robert West officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.

 

Visitation will be on Friday, August 25th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
