Gabriel Casaras Robles

Gabriel Casaras Robles, age 74, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 25, 1949, in Mission, Texas, Mr. Gabe was one of ten children born to Jesus and Englantina Robles.  He grew up fast and learned by doing.  From a young age his days were spent working in the fields with his family.  In 1969, he proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam.  After being honorably discharged in 1971, Mr. Gabe went right back to work.  He worked as a rancher and a roughneck in the oil industry and was a true jack-of-all-trades.

In 1973 he was united in marriage to Gloria Gonzalez in Powell, Wyoming where the couple made their home.  Together they had four beautiful children, Damian, Diana, Rose "Pookie" and Gabriel.  The couple later divorced in 1981.

In 1985 he married Mildred Hartley.  The couple would later divorce but remained friends.

Around 2015, Mr. Gabe and Gloria were reunited, they fell in love all over again.  The two have been by each other’s side ever since.

Mr. Gabe was never one to sit around.  His most recent venture was operating a lawn mower service for the past ten years, proving that no job was too small for his enthusiastic approach to life. He was the embodiment of a hard-working, strong, and loyal man who loved to stay busy. He had an infectious sense of humor, often brightening up the day with his good-natured teasing and pranks.

He found joy in the simplest of things, hunting, fishing and most of all riding his beloved Harley Davidson motorcycles.  Mr. Gabe was a member of the Coffeyville V.F.W. Post #1022 and American Legion Post #20.  He was a proud participant of the Freedom Riders, he rode alongside his comrades, as funeral escorts for Veterans, doing toy/benefit/charity runs to help others in need, and local parades to show support to our community.  Yet, what mattered most to him was his family.

Mr. Gabe/Grandpa Gabe leaves behind his beloved wife, Gloria Robles, his precious daughters,  Damian Robles of Phoenix, Arizona, Diana Morales and husband, Edwin of Independence, Kansas, Rose "Pookie" Robles of Coffeyville, Kansas his cherished grandchildren, Jon Murphy, Eco Orneles, Shane Orneles, Micaela McHenry and husband, Stephen, Angel Robles, Gabrielle Robles, Khloe Robles, Ruben Ruiz-Robles, Ivan Evans, Dominic Ralls and Vanessa Ralls; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe, Lupe and Ramiro Robles; sisters, Nora Darley, Gloria Cortez and Amelia Robles; his best friend, Frank, along with numerous extended relatives and friends.
