Carl W. "Bill" Clevenger, passed on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas.
He was born on November 1, 1950, in Oswego, Kansas to Clyde Eugene and Stella May (Pierson) Clevenger. Bill grew up in the Bartlett, Kansas area, where he attended school.
On December 29, 1975, he married the love of his life Pamela Jane Cole at Miami, Oklahoma. Following their marriage, they made their home in the Bartlett and Edna area where they raised their family. His love and devotion to his wife Pamela, was a testament to his character.
For 72 years, Bill made his home in Bartlett and Edna, Kansas, a place he dearly loved and contributed to in numerous ways. Bill was a humble man who lived by the principle of putting others before himself. He was a loving father, husband, brother, and grandfather who cherished his family above all else.
Bill worked at numerous area livestock markets and ranches before going to work at the Bartlett Coop where he retired in 2015 after 32 years of service. In his younger years he enjoyed calf roping and was a member of the Southeast Kansas Mounted Posse, and the Edna Roundup Club. Later in life he enjoyed listening to KU basketball and Royals and Cardinals baseball and enjoyed going to Branson with his wife Pam.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife Pamela; his children Brenda (Gary) McNickle, Carla (JJ) Bebb, and Brent (Michelle) Clevenger; his siblings Lori (Roger) Miller, Richard (Diane) Clevenger, and Debra Barnett; his grandchildren Rachel Bebb, Dillon (Alyssa) McNickle, Kendal Bebb, and Macy Clevenger; and his cherished great-granddaughter Rory McNickle.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Stella Clevenger, his brother James Clevenger, and his brother-in-law Michael Barnett.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Elm Christian Church, 4055 Lyon Road, Edna, Kansas.
Graveside Services will be at 10:30 am, Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the North Edna Cemetery north of Edna, Kansas, with Reverend Allan Banzet of Elm Christian Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Bartlett Coop Employees Unity Fund; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
