Mrs. Donna Jean Hand

Mrs. Donna Jean Hand, 83, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, died on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, in Broken Arrow.

 

 Mrs. Hand was born in Webster City, Iowa on May 4, 1940, the daughter of Erma Long and Lewis Madison.  She received her education at Webster City Schools. She was married to Delvin Everett Hand in Webster City, Iowa on January 13, 1957. They made their home in Newton, Iowa until 1974, Enid, Oklahoma from 1974 until 1980, Coffeyville, Kansas from 1980 until 2008 when they moved to Bartlesville. Mrs. Hand raised the couple's four children, then worked as a Certified Nurses Aide. She loved God and was active at Tyro Christian Church, then East Bartlesville Christian Church. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading, creating baby quilts, and spending time with her children and their families.

 

 Survivors include her four children, Delvin Everett “Buddy” Hand Jr and wife Vicki of Tyro, Kansas, Lori Lea (Hand) Barlow of Ballwin, Missouri, Debbie Jean (Hand) Waken and husband Wally of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Mark Alan Hand and wife Nikki of Webb City, Missouri, seven grandsons and four granddaughters, William Barlow, Bailey (Barlow) Bolinger, Kyle Hand, Robert James Waken, Charles Waken, Evan Hand, Aimee (Hand) Vogele, Hannah (Hand) McKibben, Mikayla Hand, Zackary Hand and David Hand, eleven great-grandchildren, and one brother-in-law, Gordon Wheeler of Marion, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, Rosetta Donaldson and Melva Jones, son-in-law, Mark Barlow, and grandson, Michael Barlow.

 

Graveside Services for Mrs. Hand will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Robbins Cemetery in Dearing, Kansas with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating.

 

Visitation will be held at David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas on Friday, June 9th, 2023, with the family present to receive guests from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may send memorial contributions in Mrs. Hand’s name to Christ in Youth, P.O. Box B, Joplin, Missouri 64802.
