Darrell Lynn Atkins, 69, of Coffeyville passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

 

He was born September 24, 1953, at Coffeyville to Charles and Mary (Vaughn) Atkins. He grew up in the Timberhill community of rural Wann, Oklahoma where he attended Oakdale School and completed his education at Wann.

 

He married Kathy and they had two children. The couple later divorced.

 

Darrell worked at several different jobs until becoming disabled.  He loved to spend his time fishing.

 

Survivors include his children, Brian, Joseph and Joshua, his siblings, Wormy Glen Atkins of Noxie, Oklahoma, Sherry Dawn Beard of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Johnny Lee Atkins of Leon, Kansas, Tammy Dean Atkins of Coffeyville and Barbie Sue Reeves and husband Bob of Coffeyville, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Atkins, his mother Mary McAfee, son Justin, brothers Billy Ray, Dennis, and Ricky Dale.

 

Cremation has taken place under the direction of David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville. The family will have a celebration of Darrell's life at a later date.
