Joyce Sullivan age 76 of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at St. John’s hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Joyce was born on June 6, 1945, in Chetopa, Kansas to Edward and Georgia Doherty Sr. Joyce had six siblings that she shared her childhood with running, playing, and enjoying each other’s company. She completed her education graduating from high school before entering the work force.
Joyce was blessed with four wonderful children with her first husband they later divorced. She was a mother who worked hard to make the best home possible for her children always putting them first and had the biggest heart. She was the type of person that would give and give never expecting anything in return. If she was financially, physically, or emotionally able to help someone she did it with no questions ask.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. At any given day you could find Joyce with a group of friends enjoying a meal at Eggbert’s and she would finish her evening watching the Home Shopping Network. Joyce was quite sweet on her companion, Brad Henry, together they shared many interests and spending time together.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Pamela Allison and her husband Wayne, Katherine Blankenship; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Sullivan; brother, Edward Doherty; sisters, Norma Swank, Mary Fricke and her husband Jim; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Andrew Sullivan and Roger Sullivan, brothers, Jerry and David Doherty and sister, Daisy Pease.
Funeral services will be held at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 1pm with burial following at Robbins Cemetery. The family has requested memorial contributions to go to the family to help defray expenses. Contributions may be left in care of the chapel.
