Mary Joan Bolton

Mary Joan Bolton, 57, of Afton, Oklahoma passed away Friday, March 13, 2020 at her home.

She was born on April 15, 1962 at Coffeyville, Kansas to Frances and Gloria Joan (Shamblin) Hodges. Mary grew up and attended school in Coffeyville.

 

In May 1993 she married George Jimmy Bolton. The couple lived in Big Spring, Texas for many years before moving to the Afton, Oklahoma area six years ago.

 

While living in the Coffeyville area Mary attended Southview Church of God in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. Mary was proud of Native American heritage and being a member of the Cherokee Nation. She enjoyed going to the Casino’s, spending time at Grand Lake, and going fishing. But her great joy was spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren.

 

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Bolton of the home in Afton, Oklahoma; two sons, James E. Eastham of Oklahoma, and Jacob Eastham of Afton, Oklahoma; two daughters, Krystal Thompson of Big Cabin, Oklahoma and Mindy Eastham of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren she raised, Jeana Paul and Eddie Paul of Afton, Oklahoma; one sister, Terri Lewis of Vinita, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Brandon Rodgers, Haylee Rodgers, Gracie Henry, Timothy Atkinson, Aeryal Miller who were with Mary a lot along with fifteen other grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

 

A Memorial Service celebrating Mary’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Southview Church of God in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma with Pastor Albertis Bray and Pastor Matthew West officiating.
