Donna Darlene (Martin) Stair

Donna Charlene (Martin) Stair, 72 of Coffeyville passed away Thursday, January 14, 2020 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

 

She was born on September 17, 1947 in Coffeyville to Eugene “Gene” and Arvilla (Richardson) Martin. Charlene grew up and attended school in the Edna area graduating from Edna High School.

 

She married Dale Rexwinkle and they had one daughter, Melissa. The couple was later divorced.

 

Several years later she remarried and moved to the Independence area.  Her husband got a job with the state of Kansas and they lived in western Kansas.  The couple then lived in Topeka where she went to work for the state of Kansas.  The couple later divorced.  Shortly after that, she retired and moved to South Dakota to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.  She returned a few years ago to Coffeyville due to health issues.

 

Donna Charlene was an avid reader, enjoyed crafting s and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Kailee Schwader and husband, Griffin, Dillon Koester, and Molly Sternberg and husband, Richard; two great-grandchildren, Griffin Schwader and Fletcher Schwader all of South Dakota; and two sisters, Reva Roberts and husband, Bob of rural Coffeyville, and Juanita Manley and husband, Jim of rural Edna.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Melissa Tennant; granddaughter, Kaitlon Rexwinkle; great-grandson Beckham Sternberg; one brother, Cecil Martin; and one sister, Francis Alene Walraven; and one special niece Karon Allison.

She will be missed.

 

A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2020 at the Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett, Kansas with Pastor Allan Banzet officiating. Following her wishes cremation has taken place.

 

Friends may sign the register book on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

 

The family suggests memorials to the Edna Public Library or the American Kidney Foundation; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
