Paul White

Paul White, 81, of Coffeyville passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Medicalodge of Coffeyville.

 

He was born on July 24, 1938 at Alden, Kansas to Cole and Laura (Pippin) White. He grew up in the Sand Hills area west of Caney attending school in Peru and Caney. In the mid 1950’s the family moved to Newton, Kansas.

 

Paul and his mother operated a Boarding House in Newton for over 20 years and Paul was employed as a custodian by the Newton Police Department for many years until he retired. After his retirement he continued to make his home in Newton until moving to Joplin, Missouri to be closer to his twin sister and her family. Following the Tornado in 2011 he moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma later returning to Newton for a short time before moving to Coffeyville in 2014 to be closer to his sister Betty Wilson.

Paul enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Newton and Bartlesville Garden Clubs. In his younger years he enjoyed playing tennis, roller skating, camping.

 

Survivors include his sister, Betty Wilson of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Marva White; one brother-in-law, Sheldon Bartley; nieces and nephews, Kay Littlepage, Laura Wolfe, Debbie Pendry, Danny White, Denise Schmidt, Mike Bartley, Rick Wilson, Sherry Perkins, and Lisa Hempel.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Cole Pete White; and two sisters, Yvonne Bartley and Pauline Bartley.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas with Pastor Doug Mund of Grace Fellowship in Coffeyville officiating.

 

Friend may call on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.

 

The family suggests memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
