Ellen T. Pollett

Ellen T. Pollett, 91 of Coffeyville, passed away October 1, 2019 at Windsor Place.

 

Ellen was born June 30, 1928 in Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii to Eitaro and Nejiu (Morimoto) Yanagida. Ellen attended local schools, graduating from high school in Honolulu. After high school she worked for several of the local lawyers. She met and married Vance Pollett in December of 1951, while he was stationed there in the Navy. They had two children. After Vance was honorable discharged the family made Coffeyville there home where Mr. Pollett was raised. They later divorced. Through the years Ellen worked for several of the local law offices as a legal secretary.  On May 25, 2006, at the age of 77, Ellen was baptized into Christ at Tyro Christian Church where she was a member.

 

Ellen is survived by her two children Ronald (Lynn) Pollett of Seattle, WA and Patricia George of rural Coffeyville, grandsons Will and Lance Toner both of rural Coffeyville, step-grandchildren Eric (Pam) George and Brenda (Justin) Taylor, great-granddaughter AnnaLi Toner of Bartlesville, step-great-grandchildren Madi and Tori George and Truitt, Ty, and Kyla Taylor, one sister, Fusako Harada of Kauai, Hawaii and many nephews and nieces.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters and son-in-law Robert George.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:00am at Tyro Christian Church with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Robbins Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. The family suggests memorials be made payable to Coffeyville Friends of Animals or Tyro Christian Church and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
