Alberto Cortez Sanchez

Alberto Cortez Sanchez, 46, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Alberto was born on April 27, 1973 in Mexico City, Mexico to Santiago Cortez de la Riva and Maria Dolores Sanchez Rodriguez.  He grew up in Mexico City where he attended local schools.

In 1997 he moved to Illinois where he resided for four year then moved to Coffeyville, Kansas to be with family.

On November 19, 2005 he was united in marriage to Jennifer Ann Aldridge at the Central Church of the Nazarene in Coffeyville.  The couple has made Coffeyville their home where they have been raising their children.  He worked most recently for Cobalt Boats in Neodesha, Kansas.

He is remembered as the life of the party.  You could always find him cooking in the kitchen, singing and dancing around making his famous carnitas.  He enjoyed many gatherings with family and friends where they could play music and sing and dance together.  His happiness and humor were contagious to all those around him.  He loved his family and looked forward to having movie nights together.

Alberto was a mechanic.  All the people in the community knew he was the man to find when it came to working on their cars.  He was an extremely hard worker.  The family said even when doctors recommended he stop working, Alberto pushed on until his very last days.  That was the kind of man he was, a provider and hard worker.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Cortez of the home; children, Jalisica Rivera, Alberto Cortez, Jr., Mariana Cortez all of Coffeyville, Kansas; his mother, Dolores Sanchez Rodriguez of Mexico; best friend and brother, Israel Cortez Sanchez; sisters, Veronica Cortez, Araceli Cortez, Nancy Cortez.
