Karon Jean Allison

Karon Jean Allison of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed from this life on January 2, 2019 at the age of 60 from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Karon was born on April 9, 1958 in Coffeyville, Kansas to James and Frances Alene (Martin) Bishop, the couple later divorced. Karon's family extended beyond her parents and two siblings, Sharon and Greg. Also loving Karon as their own child, were Fred and Velda Lamb who became like second parents, she was also loved and accepted by their sons, Robin, Wade and Tony. Karon attended school in Coffeyville, having graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School.  On July 2, 1977 she married her best friend, Rockey Allison, the couple made their home in rural South Coffeyville, of that union two children were born, Brian and Sarah.

Karon was a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, friend and co-worker, who loved Jesus and was a true example of the Proverbs 31 woman. Her home was always open to family, friends and neighbors. She was known as the perfect hostess, finding great joy in preparing meals and planning parties. An annual Easter Celebration held at their home grew from a close family gathering to a soiree of over 50 guests with more than 300 hidden eggs. She had the gift of encouragement, always finding the best part of a person and helping them to find it, too. Her servants heart led her to teach children both in Sunday School and VBS, making sure each child knew that she and Jesus loved them.

Karon loved being a mother and grandmother and was often accused of spoiling them, assuring each one knew they were "well loved".    Karon and Rockey shared a love of travel, visiting every light house between Lincoln City, Oregon and California, traveling to Alaska, many other states and putting her feet in the streams along the way. Karon loved spending the simple everyday moments with Brian, Mendy and Nathan. Nathan was always ready for an adventure with "Ammaw". Each fall she traveled with her daughter Sarah, son in law Larry and her three W's (grandchildren) to Pensacola, Fl where she could be found in her favorite flip-flops, walking the beach and soaking up the sun. The moments with family were some of her most cherished times.

Karon started each day with a grateful heart and thanked God for her family that now is left behind. Memories and love were shared with her husband, Rockey of the home, children, Brian Allison and his wife Mendy; daughter, Sarah and husband Larry Mattox; grandchildren whom she adored, Nathan Allison, Willow, Wiley and Whitley Mattox; second parents, Fred and Velda Lamb; siblings, Greg Bishop, sister, Sharon and husband Steve Khoury, bothers, Robin Lamb and wife Tammy, Wade Lamb and wife Tia, Tony Lamb and wife Pam; sister and brother in law, Vicky and Bill Thomas; sister and brother in law Pam and Michael Blackburn; grandmother, Maxine Bishop; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephew and a whole host of extended family and friends.  Karon is also at rest with her parents, James Bishop and Frances Alene Walraven, mother and father in law, J.
